Dr Andrea Watson is dedicated to providing an evidence-based approach to care with an emphasis on the individual, education, and awareness. She has a special interest in women’s health, pre and post-natal pregnancy care, as well as female athletics, and welcomes patients of all ages and conditions. Dr Watson is passionate about helping people continue to do the activities they love and believes proper movement is key to living a healthy functional lifestyle. Using the most current clinical practice guidelines, along with your personal goals, needs, and lifestyle, Dr Watson constructs a treatment plan individualized to you.
Dr Watson’s Approach to care:
Dr Watson combines her expertise in manual based chiropractic manipulations/mobilizations with various soft-tissue therapies (trigger point, manual release, instrument assisted) and strength and conditioning exercises to treat various conditions of the spine and extremities.
Dr Watson strives to reassure patients and instil a sense of confidence and empowerment through the provision of education and encouraging them to be active participants in their recovery.
Dr Watson believes strongly in a multidisciplinary approach to health care working in collaboration with other health care professionals to ensure all elements of your health are properly addressed.
Dr Watson obtained her Doctor of Chiropractic (Cum Laude) from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto. Prior to attending CMCC, Dr Watson completed a Bachelor of Arts Honors Degree in Kinesiology with a focus in Rehabilitation Sciences at Western University. During her studies, Dr Watson worked as the team therapist for the Western University women’s varsity field hockey team, providing emergency care, along with pre and post-injury rehabilitation, helping athletes to optimize their performance both on and off the field.
In addition to her intensive chiropractic training, Dr Watson has attained specialized certification in a number of complementary treatment modalities, including Webster technique for pregnancy and post-partum rehab care, SMART Tools instrument-assisted soft-tissue mobilization, Kinesio-taping for sports-related conditions and shockwave therapy.
