Dr Taylor Thurston, ND a licensed Naturopathic Physician has a general family practice with a special interest in mental health. Her practice is built on medical training, naturopathic principles and her own personal experience with mental health. She works extremely hard to build a safe environment that patients feel heard and valued. She believes in an integrative approach to healthcare where there is a combination of both conventional medicine and evidence based holistic care, that combines the mind, body and spirit. Her approach is centered around compassion and the importance of meeting people where they are at. Through the use of counselling, nutrition, botanicals, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, intravenous vitamins and acupuncture, she works with you to create a comprehensive plan that is individualized, and patient centered.

In addition to mental health, Dr Thurston addresses all primary care health concerns and has additional interests in digestive and hormonal health. She regularly upgrades her skills and knowledge base through continuing education. She has recently completed additional training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).

Dr Taylor Thurston’s personal experience with mental illness inspired her to pursue a career in integrative mental health. She has completed her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Psychology at Rochester Institute of Technology where she was fortunate to play NCAA Division I ice hockey for 4 years. Dr. Thurston continued her studies at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine where she received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. She is an active member of the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC), British Columbia Naturopathic Association (BCNA), Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and Psychiatric Association of Naturopathic Physicians (PyschANP).

Outside of clinical practice, Dr Thurston can be found spending time with family and friends. She spends most of her spare time outside, hiking, camping, snowboarding and playing sports.
